Frequently Asked Questions

  • How much space does a goat need?
You'll need about 135 square feet of space per goat that you have in your herd. Nigerian dwarf goats are very playful, and they love to romp and climb on things. So if you have 3 goats, for example, you'll need about 405 square feet.
  • Can I just have one goat?
NO Goats are herd animals and do require herd mates for proper social and psychological development. Single goats can become lost in their roll leading to behavioral issues, depression, sickness, and death. We always recommend buying at least 2 if you are looking for great pets or starting your first herd.
  • Is goats milk right for you?
YES! Goat milk is the best alternative to regular milk. It is naturally more nutritious than soy, rice, almond or coconut milk. Goat milk has higher levels of protein, calcium, and phosphorus compared to 'other' milk beverages or alternative. Goat milk is also a great alternative for lactose intolerant folks as it is easier for human digestion rather than cows milk.
  • How long do goats live?
The natural life expectancy of a sheep or goat is 10 to 12 years, similar to a large breed of dog.
